All five Hunger Games films return to cinemas in September

One film a night from 3 September, with a Sunrise on the Reaping sneak peek attached in the US. We're confirming whether Australian sessions get the footage.

Lionsgate is sending the whole franchise back to cinemas in the run-up to Sunrise on the Reaping: all five films, one per night — The Hunger Games on 3 September, Catching Fire on the 4th, Mockingjay — Part 1 and Part 2 on the 5th and 6th, and The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes closing on 7 September.

In North America, where the event screens through Fathom, sessions come with a sneak peek at Sunrise on the Reaping — early footage from Haymitch’s Quarter Quell. International dates haven’t been formally announced, but session times have already begun appearing on Village Cinemas’ website, which is usually how these things surface here first.

The question that matters for Australian fans: does the sneak peek travel with the films? THGAustralia has asked whether local sessions carry the Sunrise footage, and we’ll update this story when we have an answer. If you’ve been waiting to see the original on a big screen again — or to hear a full house react to the Reaping — September is your week.
