Haymitch finally gets a Funko Pop: new Hunger Games wave hits US pre-order on 26 August
Funko is returning to Panem. Three new Hunger Games Pop! Movies figures go up for pre-order at all US Funko retailers from Wednesday 26 August: two versions of Katniss Everdeen and, for the first time in the line’s history, Haymitch Abernathy.
The Australian release will follow later in September. We’ll have the AU date, pricing and where to buy as soon as it’s confirmed.
The three figures
#2115 Katniss Everdeen. Katniss in her arena gear, braid over the shoulder, bow in hand. The straightforward one, and the one most people will buy first.

#2116 Haymitch Abernathy. Woody Harrelson’s Haymitch, long hair, suit, thumbs up. Funko skipped him entirely in the original 2015 wave, which at the time felt like an oversight and now reads like timing. He arrives in the same year the film about his Games does.

#2117 Katniss Everdeen, Girl on Fire. The interview-night dress with the flame hem, deep blue skirt, silver bodice and the full Capitol eye make-up. Funko did a Girl on Fire Katniss in 2015 (#225); this is a new sculpt and, from the product shot, a considerably better one. The flames are modelled rather than painted on.

All three ship under “The World of The Hunger Games” banner with the four film emblems on the box, so this is original-trilogy Katniss and Haymitch, not Sunrise on the Reaping figures. Joseph Zada’s Haymitch, if Funko gets to him, would be a separate announcement.

Why this matters for Australian collectors
The 2015 wave (#225 to #231, Katniss in four outfits plus Peeta, Effie and Snow) has been vaulted for years. If you want a Mockingjay Katniss or a wedding-dress Katniss today, you’re paying eBay prices, and the Hot Topic pre-release variants go for silly money. A fresh wave at retail price, with a Haymitch in it, is the first chance in over a decade to start a Hunger Games Pop shelf without the secondary market.
The September AU timing also lines up neatly with the run-in to the film. Expect these to be on shelves well before 19 November.
What we don’t know yet
Funko hasn’t published an RRP, and we haven’t seen whether this is the whole wave or the first three of a larger set. No retailer exclusives or chase variants have been announced. We’ll update this piece as the US listings go live on 26 August and again when the Australian details land.
Confirmed: the three figures, numbers and the 26 August US pre-order date. Not yet confirmed: AU date, AU pricing, AU retailers, and whether further figures are coming in this wave.
